Serves:

Fresh bread baking in the oven while summer fades to fall… the thing dreams are made of. When I was a kid, my mom used to make this beer bread with this exact dip. At thirty-three years old, I still lounge in my Chicago kitchen daydreaming about those fresh loaves. I think we call those our nostalgia foods. The ones that take us back in time. If you’re anything like me, you’ll try to ration how often you make them, afraid that they will lose their time traveling powers if you bring them back too often.

3 Minute Beer Bread

This bread is so incredibly quick and easy. I’m willing to bet you have all the ingredients just sitting in your cabinets waiting. There is no waiting period, yeast, or proofing… it is quite literally mixing all the ingredients together and throwing them in a bread pan to cook. You are welcome… see I do know how to be simple sometimes. You can have this bread in the oven baking before your oven even has time to warm up. While often it’s the long meditative art of cooking that I love, sometimes it’s nice to just whip something up this quick.

All Purpose Flour vs. Self-Rising

One of the main differences between self rising flour vs all purpose is that self-rising includes baking powder and salt. I’ll be honest, I have never bought self-rising flour in my life. I just don’t use it enough. Substituting in some baking powder and salt has always done the trick for me. Of course, upon my research, there are other major differences like the protein percentages.

Spinach and Herb Dip

The easy way to make this dip is to find a pre-made spinach and herb blend. Tastefully Simple has a blend that I love. You can also make your own blend based upon your specific taste. The one ingredient that can’t be forgotten is the dried spinach! It is an absolute game changer. If you have a dehydrator, this would be a great opportunity to dry out your own spinach and create a blend. Herbs to include in your blend…

  • Dried Spinach
  • Dried Minced Garlic
  • Dried Minced Onion
  • Dried Dill
